So, we’re excited to be once again honored by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) with its 2023 “Excellence in Care (EIC) Dementia Care Program of Distinction.”
This is the fifth consecutive time the Birches has received this national recognition for its memory care services and the first time for its assisted living communities.
AFA’s EIC designation is highly sought after and is bestowed annually on only those dementia care facilities that pass a rigorous review and evaluation of staff, procedures, resident care standards, and environment.
EIC-awarded facilities are considered to hold the highest commitment to memory care and assisted living residents and ensure the very best practices in dementia care.
AFA EIC sites must meet highly specific care standards in three areas:
- Facilitating meaningful living
- Promoting safety and security in the environment
- Protecting the overall health and wellness of the care community being serviced
